If you are homeless and have nowhere to go...

Then you may be eligible for Emergency Assistance, Massachusetts' emergency family shelter program. The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), the state's welfare office, runs the Emergency Assistance program.

Please note that Housing Families Inc. is not able to provide direct support for families who come to our offices seeking shelter placement. Families must first be found eligible by DTA in order to be placed in a shelter operated by Housing Families.

Please contact MA Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) directly or visit the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless web site for up-to-date information on eligibility and how to obtain shelter.
